Re: Ignorant beginner questions - which electronics?

I fall into the same " ignorant beginner" group. hull looks great! and you are clearly going to make a lovely boat. have you thought about buying a complete used boat? easy way of buying all the required parts at a good price and after transfer to your hull, you may well to get something for the gla...

Depth adjustment for racing marks

Now its cold, it would be nice find a simpler method of adjusting the length of the anchor line on our racing marks so that its kept out of the way. We have significant variation in depth over our racing area. Currently using karabiner and loops which is simple but fiddly .

Your suggestions ?

Re: IRSA New Policy on Prohibited Events - and the penalty for attending one

does the standard use of " nations cup" , " global trophy" etc keep them happy? or are they potentialy chasing any event drawing competitors from all over the planet? ( cant use the W word!)

Re: IRSA New Policy on Prohibited Events - and the penalty for attending one

I can see the advantage of ensuring that the status of a World Championship is maintained. Is it just me thinking that this reaction is more than a little heavy handed?

Re: Alternative scoring systems

I am new to rc and as yet have not done a iom event. From my limited experience of events in other classes, I can see an advantage in this scoring system. I realise its fixed just at the end, but this appeals rather than the constant " move up- one race out of my depth- move down"!. a little racing ...

Re: Back of the fleet, lack of rule observance

Thanks Erick Just back from Birmingham MYC todays Rg/Df65 racing. 25 boats enjoyed close and friendly racing with any rules transgressions dealt with with a prompt turn. Perhaps I have found my own solution! be more careful with my selection of the events I enter. And looking forward to joining in w...

Re: Back of the fleet, lack of rule observance

I have to say that my limited experience of iom racing is that rule observance is good, a factor has to be that with an expensive boat there is an incentive not to bang into others. And the club racing at BMYC is also well mannered . Looking forward to the winter when I can join you on Saturdays wit...
