Personal Sail Numbers

Personal Sail Numbers

Do Personal Sail Numbers take precedence over Class Association allocated Sail Numbers.

How can the MYA justify issuing Sail numbers – As MYA. This surly is the domain of the Class Association.

S
imilarly how can someone selling a boat as a Registered Boat retain the Sail Number unless he/she makes it clear to the buyer that He/She intends to retain the number or sells it as an Unregistered Boat and removes the sail numbers?

One might argue that the Hull number is not the sail number – but ahead of doing that refer to the MYA / ISF – rules / guidelines for sail numbers. i.e. the last 2 digits of the Hull number.

I know it is nice to retain your sail number but it is not yours to keep - it belongs to the boat.

If you have detected a modicum of vexation in this posing - you bet I am vexed.

SELF CENTRING RUDDER SERVO PROBLEM

I had a problem with my rudder servo recently. The servo would not self centre when releasing the Tx control stick. I replaced the servo and the same problem occurred after a short period of use. Initially I thought the problem was a batch of dodgy servos - but this was not the case. The problem was with the Spektrum DX5e Transmitter whose gimbals and pots were faulty. I must congratulate Horizon Hobby UK on their response to my return of the Tx for a checkout. It was posted off on the Friday afternoon replaced and received back on the following Tuesday all FOC.
