Many thanks Andy and team Lincoln for giving us an interesting days sailing. You had little option but to have the running starts as I doubt if any of us were tall enough to stand in the water!
These running starts were in fact very difficult and I don't think I got one right all day. Perhaps the secret was not to bother to try to make a good start but concentrate on rolling up in the right place at the first leeward mark and getting the inside overlap. Now why didn't I think of that yesterday? Tony Edwards

Thanks Tony, last night I was just glad it was over! Now I’ve recovered a little I think the day went as well as conditions allowed.

Even if height wasn’t an issue you’d all have frozen to death before the first race was over. I only got my hands wet fishing the buoys out a few times & was very uncomfortable in short order. That water was perishing cold!

Absolutely! Those that concentrated on position for an overlap at the gate ended up in the top 4 or 5 at the first windward rounding. No point in being on the line with speed at the gun if you’re smack in the middle, whichever gate mark you choose, you near the back going round it.
