The weather is starting to clear and the Boat show is over, thoughts are now moving towards the MYA Seminar.

Speakers are confirmed as: Mike Clifton, Tony Edwards, Brad Gibson, Martin Roberts and Rob Walsh.

This seminar is intended to be an interactive experience with the morning dedicated to hull & rig builidng, followed by group sessions where each speaker will be available to discuss the principles and tricks of boat tune up, skippers will be encouraged to ask questions and get the answers to anything rig or tune up related within their small group.

Where else in 2010 will you get the chance to ask these top skippers about how they set their boats up.

The afternoon will be dedicated to interactive discussion about real life racing incidents, with the speakers again able to talk you through how they see things happen.

All this will take part in the Manor Park SC Clubhouse, where for £3.00 per head you can get help and advice, lunch and drink provided, sheltered from the february weather.

Early bookings mean that there are only a few places left, but we want to fill this event, and need to confirm the numbers to the caterers.

For more information or to book in please email midlands-sec-10@mya-uk.org.uk

Manor Park SC & MYC can be found here

WELL DONE MANOR PARK

I would like to report the success for the MYA seminar yesterday held at Manor Park Sailing Club. With guest speakers passing on their tremendous amount of knowledge and common sense approach, I am sure the attending skippers went away more confident and with ideas to make their boats faster.

On behalf of the MYA Midland District I would like to thank the following people for their support of this popular event:

Martin, Brad, Rob, Mike and Tony for imparting their knowledge to the attending skippers. Dave Higging and his team for the lovely hot food and hospitality. Paul Stubbs and the members of Manor Park Sailing Club for setting up and hosting the seminar.

I would like to say the biggest "thanks" to "Fat Boy" Darin for putting so much time, effort and thought into making the event the success it has been for the last 2 years.

"Well Done Darin"

And so say all of us. Thank you to all the named suspects for an informative. useful and most enjoyable day. It was more than worth the effort of travelling up from the deep south.
